Objectives

  1. Understand the role of sustainable procurement in achieving LEED v4 certification for green building design and construction.
  2. Identify sustainable procurement strategies that can be used to achieve specific LEED v4 BD+C, ID+C, O+M and Homes credits, such as outdoor water use reduction, heat island reduction, light pollution reduction, and integrated pest management.
  3. Identify and select sustainable materials and products through research and collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers, using resources such as sustainability databases, supplier information, industry certifications, EPDs, and LCAs.
  4. Educate and train team members on sustainable procurement best practices to promote a culture of sustainability within a LEED v4 Project.
