This guidance document is for projects that are on a shared site under the control of a single entity; for example, a corporate or educational campus, government installation or commercial development.
This guidance seeks to:
- encourage a holistic approach to project management
- define campus‐appropriate documentation requirements and capture economies of scale in the certification process
- address the unique challenges and opportunities inherent in campus projects
- maintain the technical integrity and rigor of the LEED rating systems
The guidance document is applicable to LEED 2009 and LEED v4 Building Design and Construction, LEED 2009 and LEED v4 Interior Design and Construction, and LEED 2009 and LEED v4 Building Operations and Maintenance rating system groups.
LEED 2009: Projects registered prior to October 31, 2011 may use the AGMBC Part 1. Projects registered prior to April 1, 2014 may use the AGMBC Part 2.
Using a v2 rating system? Refer to the 2005 Application Guide for Multiple Buildings and On-Campus Building Projects.
Projects using LEED v4 should not rely upon Appendices C or D of the LEED Campus Guidance, as the applicability of campus or group approaches have been modified for some credits by addenda. Instead, we'd recommend that you refer to the online v4 Reference Guide information available through the "Guide" tab of the Credit Library (if you have paid for online reference guide access), or that you refer to a hard-copy or PDF version of the applicable LEED v4 Reference Guide with applicable Addenda, which can be found through our Addenda database. If you don't already have them, Reference Guides, or online access to them, can be purchased through our website. The Campus and Group applicability guidance is detailed in the Further Explanation > Campus section of the guidance for each credit & prerequisite.
