Last certified on:
Certification level: Platinum

Project info

Size149,501 sq ft
Gdynia Waterfront is a multi-functional complex, which is being developed on the embankment of the President’s Bay in Gdynia. The planned development includes residential buildings, offices, numerous service premises, hotels, a conference area and spa, and public buildings, including a cinema. An important element of the concept is the design of pedestrian oriented open space, with passages leading to a main square, and landscape architecture which emphasizes the individual functional areas of the future development with an estimated total area of 110,000 square meters. All buildings on the site are undertaking LEED certification, with certification complete on the first two buildings (the first phase of the Gdynia Waterfront development). The Marriott Courtyard hotel has been awarded LEED Gold, and the adjacent office building has achieved LEED Platinum certification. Due to the specific location of the buildings adjacent to the harbour, they are equipped with a sea cooling heat exchanger system. Another interesting solution is the Clean Drive function with which elevator engines are equipped, which reduces the use of energy by approximately 30 percent, and the power recovered by elevator engines is directly transmitted to the electrical network in the buildings.
