USGBC and Greenbuild’s volunteer interest form for the 2023 Greenbuild International Conference and Expo is now open. The annual volunteer program brings students and emerging professionals under age 30 to the table to ensure the event’s sustainability goals are met and supports efforts to obtain TRUE for Events certification.

Greenbuild will take place in person in Washington, D.C., from Sept. 26 to 29. The volunteer program is limited to in-person participation and does not include reimbursement or stipend for lodging or travel accommodations. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 30 who are either full-time students or emerging professionals are eligible to participate as volunteers and will receive a complimentary conference pass valued at $800 in exchange for 8 hours of work between Sept. 26 and 29.

In addition to contributing to the Greenbuild sustainability goals, volunteers have access to over 100 education sessions, the ability to network with industry professionals, and the opportunity to view current and upcoming green products on the expo hall floor. Submit the interest form or share the opportunity with your network. Applications are due May 3.

Eligibility requirements:

Be 18 years or older as of May 31, 2023.
Be available to participate in a digital orientation on Aug. 23.
Guarantee of attendance at the event in person Sept. 26–29.
Work 8 hours between Sept. 26–29.
Not be a staff member, contractor or intern or hold a volunteer leadership position with USGBC, GBCI or Greenbuild.
Demonstrate your interest in working to advance green building, sustainable communities and social equity with an undergraduate, graduate or career focus that centers around the topics of sustainability, health and wellness, resilience or equity.

Complete the application by 11:59 p.m. ET on May 3 to be considered for a volunteer position. Notifications will be delivered in mid-June.
