As principal since 1989, Steve is responsible for the design leadership of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. He brings a strong commitment to sustainable design, energy conservation, and healthy building design. Steve has extensive experience in the energy analysis, design and construction of complex projects, including for higher education facilities, libraries, hospitals and medical centers, laboratories, museums and aquariums, and performing arts/media facilities. Steve serves on national committees that are developing guidelines and best practices for sustainability in our nation’s healthcare facilities. He served as Chair of the LEED for Healthcare Core Committee, which developed the LEED for Healthcare rating system, and serves on the Steering Committee of the Green Guide for Health Care (www.gghc.org), for which he wrote the Energy Optimization credit. Steve also leads the GGHC Carbon/Energy Task Group as the Co-Chair. He has also presented at numerous national and international conferences – including the American Society for Healthcare Engineering’s conferences - on sustainable design in healthcare facilities.
